Agent Contract Terms

There are many times in your life where you're going to need to dive in feet first without the help of a guide or an instruction manual. This is usually the case when you move into Lorne Park homes and start raising a family and might even be true if one day you choose to leave your job to go into business for yourself. But one time that you don't need to go at it alone is when you're selling your home. There are real estate agents throughout Surrey with a wealth of knowledge in doing business and the local market that can help you get a good deal in a reasonable amount of time without too much hassle. But before you sign up with an agent you should make sure that you understand your responsibilities to each other.

There are some things that you're sure to ask when you first approach an agent with the thought of signing with them. Everyone wants to know the rate of commission that they charge as a Surrey or Windsor real estate agent for selling a home and most want to know their experience and track record for marketing homes in that city. But there are definitely some more questions that you should be asking before you agree to work with them.

One thing that you should check is whether or not they are a member of the Realtors Association. It is possible to get a real estate license in Ontario or British Columbia and not sign on to being a realtor, which required you to sign a code of ethics. Choosing an agent who is a registered realtor is the first step to building a trusting and honest working relationship with them.

You should also make sure that you understand all of the services that they are promising to offer as they attempt to sell your home. Whether you're working with a Remax real estate agent Milton based or an independent realtor here in the city, there are many different things that they may or may not offer for their commission fee. All agents should help you put together an MLS profile for your home and be available to show your property to potential buyers. But some might be willing to go far beyond these minimum requirements.

Lastly, you are going to want to make sure you know your rights when it comes to dropping them as your agent, should you choose. There are going to be hundreds of Toronto real estate agents or Surrey representatives out there and should the person you choose turn out to be the wrong choice you want to make sure that you won't be penalized for canceling your agreement. Usually agents will offer you a time period for signing with them. If they are unable to make a sale in three months, perhaps, than you are welcome to try with another agent.
