Real Estate Lawyers

Almost everyone has heard of the Shakespeare line where Henry proposes the murder of all the lawyers in the land. While this would be wrong, it sure seems as though lawyers have multiplied exponentially since Shakespeare's day. And they have made themselves a necessary part of society today. Lawyers are the only ones who understand the law because they are also the ones who make the law; judges at all levels are former lawyers, and the precedents they set in London Ontario real estate cases and others around the country are constantly requiring interpretation by still more lawyers.

As noted above, real estate transactions have certainly not escaped the grasp of lawyers. Whenever you buy a piece of Mississauga real estate, residential, commercial, or anything else, you have to have the paper work ratified by a member of the bar. The service doesn't come cheap either; for about an hour worth of work which is all essentially done on the computer and about ten minutes face to face, you can expect to pay up to a thousand dollars.

And the bad news? There really is no way to get out of it! Everyone from your Milton real estate agent to the mortgage broker are beholden to the lawyers who say whether or not we should sign on the bottom line. It is just the way our society has been built.

To be fair, though, we should point out that on rare occasions, the use of a lawyer on your real estate transactions can prove useful. This is particularly true when you are buying Surrey British Columbia real estate or some other equally expensive property. There are always a few things which can go wrong if matters are not looked at carefully, and a lawyer is usually the only one who can interpret a contract and a property deed to see if there are any problems.

For some people, a lawyer is actually a more palatable option than a real estate agent. Real estate lawyers have all the knowledge that agents do about real estate, and that means they can help you list your home if you are selling. They may even be able to do so at less than what it would cost if you were using a real estate agent to sell your Toronto lofts. Where lawyers charge a straight up fee, agents will charge by commission.

What's more, if you are a buyer, you know your lawyer is representing your interests when you purchase Oakville Ontario real estate. This is unlike the commission motivated real estate agent. With that knowledge of the law a lawyer may also be able to save you substantial money on conveyance costs, title transfers, even through tax exemptions.
